Sacramento at street level
Sacramento runs on a grid surveyed in 1848, numbered streets one direction and lettered streets the other, which is why an address like 3319 J tells a local exactly where it is before they open a map. The office sits on J Street at 33rd, one block south of the McKinley Park Rose Garden at 33rd and H, and two blocks east of Alhambra Boulevard, the line most people treat as the seam between Midtown and East Sacramento. Sutter's Fort is about half a mile west, at 27th and L. The city holds roughly 536,000 residents and is regularly ranked among the most ethnically mixed in the country, with more than a third of residents over age five speaking a language other than English at home. Neighborhoods stay distinct: Land Park, Curtis Park, Oak Park, Tahoe Park, the Pocket, Natomas. J Street is the spine tying the east side of the grid together.
Who comes in from Sacramento, and what for
Patients arrive from across the city because J Street runs continuously from downtown out to Sacramento State, which puts the office within reach of most of the central grid without touching a freeway. State workers from downtown and Midtown take early or late slots around Capitol schedules. Families from Land Park and Curtis Park come north for cleanings and general family dentistry. Patients from Oak Park and Tahoe Park come up Alhambra Boulevard or off the Gold Line. The range is wide, so the work is too, from routine exams to implants, endodontics, and cosmetic requests.
Getting to Artisan Dentistry from Sacramento
Drive note. From most points in central Sacramento, the office is a five to fifteen minute drive. From the West Sacramento side of the Tower Bridge, plan ten to fifteen minutes; from Land Park or Curtis Park, about ten minutes; from Carmichael or Arden, fifteen to twenty.

Transit, bikes, and parking from Sacramento
SacRT Route 30 is named for J Street and stops at 33rd, running out from the Sacramento Valley Station. Heading back downtown it shifts to L Street at Alhambra Boulevard, because J Street turns one-way eastbound there. The Gold Line's 29th Street Station is about a fifteen-minute walk. Routes 67 and 68 use 29th and 30th, which run one-way in opposite directions on either side of the freeway. Patient parking and the entrance are off 33rd Street.
