Campus Commons at street level
The Guy West Bridge, opened in 1967 and painted the same international orange as the Golden Gate, drops walkers and cyclists from Sacramento State onto this side of the river, and it remains the landmark everyone uses to explain where Campus Commons is. The nine-hole Campus Commons Golf Course sits off Cadillac Drive. Pavilions and Loehmann's Plaza on Fair Oaks Boulevard cover most errands. The area holds roughly 3,400 residents, a high share with graduate degrees, very few households with children, and a near-even split between owners and renters. That produces a specific population: retired professionals, professors, career state employees, and people who downsized here from larger houses in Arden or East Sacramento and kept their dentist along the way.
Who comes in from Campus Commons, and what for
Most Campus Commons patients are past sixty and have kept their teeth, which is exactly when the maintenance questions get interesting. Recession at the gumline, decay where an old crown margin ends, a bridge abutment that finally gives out, a partial that no longer fits. Many are on a shorter maintenance cleaning interval rather than a twice-yearly one. Several are caring for a spouse and want appointments coordinated on the same morning so the drive happens once.
